Wood Plastic Composite material

Back in the early 1990’s a new innovation occurred with Wood Plastic Composite outdoor decking boards which was a huge step forward for outdoor spaces.

After the first year the product started going mildew, fading and  rotting which gave the product a very bad consumer rating. After further development to overcome these short comings by adding various additives the product became fairly stable but would still fade over a long period of time, scratch and dent as well.

Further development found that by enclosing the whole product in a film or capped they could overcome all these problems, so they developed and implemented a process of CAPPING the whole board/plank with HDPE. This would stop Rotting, fading, Scratching, Slipping and Wear and was done at high temperature and called Co-extrusion.

Our co-extruded boards/planks are the next generation in composite decking. Each board or plank offers the traditional qualities of composite decking boards with the unparalleled beauty of a deep wood grain ageless look. Co-Extruded Decking is the latest innovation in composite decking and has many advantages which take it beyond standard composite decking.

The boards/planks are more durable, scratch resistant and will not lose colour making them ideal for large commercial projects.

With the innovation of Co-extrusion the consumer demand for long life decking, cladding and outside structures has soared and brought a new surge in demand for such products.

We have been involved in the advanced co-extrusion technology since it’s implementation in 2013 and further developed SPC the most disruptive innovation in the flooring industry since the advent of Linoleum which was invented by Frederick Edward Walton in 1855.
